Sliding louvred doors between sleeping and living spaces maximise privacy and invite the flow of fresh sea breezes. Residential-style furnishings and décor draw their inspiration from the natural surroundings: ocean, forest, sunshine or beach. Guest Rooms - All spacious guest rooms at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica feature furnished balconies or terraces to maximise the beauty of the outdoors, while international cable television and DVD players guarantee indoor enjoyment. On the first floor, Garden Rooms offer views of the natural tropical gardens or forest, while similarly sized Deluxe Rooms frame partial ocean or bay views, as well as vistas of the tropical gardens, from the second floor. On the third and fourth floors, beautiful Premium Rooms overlook the tropical dry forest and bay or ocean from a treetop height. Guests may choose between one king or two double beds in the Garden, Deluxe and Premium Rooms. With a king bedroom secluded from the living and working area, more spacious Four Seasons Executive Suites boast a large balcony or terrace overlooking the bay.

Suites - Luxurious suites are nestled into the hillside, with separated living and sleeping areas for elegant entertaining and privacy. One-Bedroom Suites offer the choice of a king or double bedroom and feature an infinity plunge pool; each has a guest powder room with shower for convenience and frame views of the tropical dry forest and bay or ocean. With similar views, Premier Three-Bedroom Suites feature a separate dining area and pantry for elegant meals, as well as an infinity plunge pool.

From their hillside locations, Pacifico Two-Bedroom Suites and Pacifico Three-Bedroom Suites offer a residential feel with a dining area that seats six, and furnished patio; they feature bay or ocean views with vistas of tropical greenery or dry forest.

The one-of-a-kind Presidential Three-Bedroom Suite guarantees the ultimate in luxe comfort and space, with an extra-large living area, dining room and pantry. A private central courtyard, outdoor infinity-edge pool, and private outdoor shower are yours to enjoy, with panoramic views of the tropical gardens and bay.

Families and Special Needs - Children under 18 can be accommodated at no additional charge in their parents' room or suite in a crib or rollaway, available upon request, space permitting. SPA & FITNESS CENTRE: The Spa and Fitness Centre offers 1,486 square metres (16,000 square feet) of state-of-the-art fitness facilities, including personal trainers and a broad range of fitness classes. Facilities include an exercise room, separate steam room and lockers for men and women, cardiovascular machines and free weights, and are available to guests 16 years and older.

Spa services is located in the main lobby building with a separate entrance and offering views of the Pacific Ocean, the Spa at Four Seasons offers a complete range of massages and spa treatments designed to relax, rejuvenate, enrich and heal the body and soul. The Spa uses therapies unique to Costa Rica, with mineral-rich rainforest muds taken from the nearby Osa Peninsula.

The facility features eight massage rooms, seven wet treatment rooms with showers, four facial treatment rooms and three pedicure stations. Spa services are available to guests 18 years and older.

POOL: Relax with a cold drink on the magnificent pool deck. Lush landscaping surrounds three swimming pools, a 1,000-square-metre (10,765-square-foot) freshwater main pool and two smaller pools, one on either side. The main pool is located in the centre of the Resort. The smaller pools overlook two different beaches, Blanca Bay (the activities beach) and Playa Virador (the quiet beach). Enjoy an aquatic workout, or relax in the whirlpool.

Children will enjoy the shallow, beach-style entrance of their own 50-square-metre (540-square-foot) pool, while their parents relax on chaises longues in the shade nearby. A variety of pool toys and frozen treats is available at the toddler pool. Additional refreshing touches include complimentary bottled water spritz and chilled, scented towels.

FOUR SEASONS GOLF CLUB COSTA RICA AT PENINSULA PAPAGAYO: Set on the Papagayo Peninsula with cool, prevailing breezes, Four Seasons Golf Club Costa Rica boasts sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean on 14 of its 18 holes. This Arnold Palmer signature golf course has wide, undulating fairways with large and contoured greens, providing a fair and challenging test of your golf finesse.

The Pro Shop is open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm and tee times are offered from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Clubs and shoes are available for rent. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

TENNIS: For tennis enthusiasts, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica offers four courts with the Har-Tru clay-like surface. Located at the tennis complex at the Bella Vista Clubhouse, a seven-minute ride from the Resort lobby

RESTAURANT: Di Mare offers Italian specialties and exemplary service – and an ocean-view vantage point. Open for dinner, the restaurant serves superb fare that may be enjoyed indoors or on the fully screened outdoor terrace. Seats 70 inside, 50 outside.

Di Mare also features a luxuriously appointed private dining room with seating for up to 30. Open screened windows allow guests to hear the rolling surf as they dine on an elegant four- to eight-course dinner designed in consultation with our chef.

Specialties - The dinner menu changes daily and features the Executive Chef's finest creations. A variety of Italian and seafood dishes and an inspired selection of nutritionally balanced fare are offered on all menus. A children's menu is also available.
